Hi there friends!
Sorry my blog posts have been so far and few between. I
honestly have been busy here and I only brough my iTouch with me and writing
blog posts are rather annoying on that. However, one of the missionaries I am
staying with is letting me borrow her computer so I am able to write this and
upload some photos! Woohoo! It took a couple more days than when I originally planned because her computer cord got broken, so anyhow...here it is now!
I have been so abundantly blessed here in Uganda. For years
I knew that the Lord was calling me here, but never knew exactly what that
would look like, and I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever loved a place
more. I live in a compound with four other missionaries. Zane is the pastor of
Calvary Chapel Kitgum and his wonderful wife Summer. They have 13 beautiful
children, (and the most well behaved)! Bri, a 25 year old girl and I share a house
together and she is great as well. She helps Summer a ton with the kids and
with homeschooling and just all the daily activities. And then Therese is
another missionary here, and she is just wonderful! She is older but I feel
like the Lord has put us together as partners! She has been one of the main
reasons why my time here has been so great, I have been able to partner with
her in her ministry. I am helping with different bible studies and childrens
ministry and frankly, sort of wherever is needed. The compound has a papaya farm on it, that
Zane runs. There are seven huts, 4 for
the kids and Zane and Summer, one of Bre and I, one for Therese and one for
Ryan when he comes and stays in Kitgum. It really is a great set up! I love it!
Every week we go out to the village, Latodore. I truly
believe my heart is there. I cannot even begin to express how much I love it. A
missionary named Ryan lives out there full time. The place where he lives is
Moru Ku, which is the most beautiful place! I simply love it out there! If it
were possible for me to spend my summer there and minister in Latordore, I
definitely would! I love the people there, especially the women and children
and so deeply desire to show them the love and freedom in Christ. It is such a
blessing to serve there.
In a couple of weeks a team from Solid Rock will be coming
into Uganda and I will join with them and serve in Kampala and Arua, where I
was last year. It will be really neat to connect with the all the people I met
last year.
I really love it here. Have I mentioned that? I have been
stretched and challenged in ways I never thought! The Lord is so faithful and
continues to bless me everyday!
Please continue to pray for Summer. Her and two of her
children are returing to the states in about a week. She is really sick with
some stomach complications and it looks like she is going to be needing to
spend longer in America than what they had originally anticipated. Continue to
pray for a healing hand a speedy recovery please!
I’ll try to get some pictures up!
Blessings dear friends!
